How Panstoria Came To Be

It all began in 1993 under the name Interpersonal Computing, Inc. Our bread and butter was the development of commercial and custom software for businesses. For the next seven years we worked for clients like AT&T, NCR, Sprint, and Standard Register.

People loved our software so much that they wanted to sell some of our systems commercially. So in 2000, we narrowed our focus towards commercial products and changed our name to Caspedia Corporation.

In 2003, after years of creating software to control machines and business processes, Mike and Paul decided to create software with a more human touch. Paul always had a penchant for photography and Mike is a genealogy and history buff. They saw a need in their own lives for software that would help them preserve memories by organizing, editing, and labeling photos.

So they made it. Then, they decided to share the product with others and released the photo editing and organization app in 2005. A year later, in 2006, the first version of Caspedia digital scrapbooking software was released, with two more versions following in later years.

The third version of the software, which would be the predecessor of Artisan, received recognition in 2009 from the Readers’ Choice Awards in the magazine Creating Keepsakes. While under a private-label, it was awarded first place in the Digital Scrapbooking Software category and fourth place in the Best New Product of 2008 category.

In 2010, our name changed to Panstoria to prepare for the release of our new software, Artisan, and the other applications we have yet to release.

What does this timeline mean to you? We have quite a bit of practice designing, developing, and supporting software. After all those years of working out kinks and improving features, we think you’ll reap the fruits of our labor: software that is highly refined. We’ve used it to tell our families’ stories and now we hope you’ll use it to tell yours.
