Mike Carroll, CEO

Business ventures began for Mike in the second grade, selling “cootie insurance” on the playground. Mike and his friend charged ten cents or a pack of gum for an insurance policy. (To protect against cooties of certain people, an extra five cents was charged.) Mike’s next enterprise was in sixth grade when he sold greeting cards with custom imprinting of the customer’s name and message through a company whose ad he found in the back of Boys’ Life magazine.

He graduated from University of Dayton with a degree in Computer Science and a minor in Psychology. He knew his wife in high school, but it was in college that the sparks began to fly. Now, they have one daughter and one son, both in college.

Mike enjoys playing piano and trombone, reading anything about science, playing board games, and watching classic movies and TV shows. Most of all, he and his family love hiking in state and national parks.

Amazingly, business partners Mike and Paul have known each other for 26 years, have worked together for 19 years, and have managed to stay friends.

Paul Schweizer, CTO

Our CTO has had a life filled with ingenuity. In fourth grade, Paul and a friend created their own currency, and the whole class clamored for the new coin. Unfortunately, this was also Paul’s first run-in with hyperinflation. Never defeated, Paul spent two of his high school years co-writing a musical, which was eventually performed by his classmates.

Equally scientific as creative, Paul graduated from Rice University with a degree in Mechanical Engineering and Materials Science.  He took his science skills to NASA, where he had fun working with the Spacesuit team. His engineering skills came in handy at home too, where he avidly coached his daughter’s Destination Imagination team and built pumpkin-throwing trebuchets with his son.

Paul is a family man and met his wife while singing in the church choir. Their son and daughter are now in college, but Paul keeps himself active in his workshop (perhaps building more pumpkin-throwing implements?). If you listen closely, you might even hear him announcing halftime shows for the marching band at the local high school.

Michelle Lentz, Director of Marketing

If we were to label a picture of Michelle, it might be titled “thrill-seeker.” She spent one summer in college as an official hot air balloon chaser (which entails driving the chase car to collect the balloon, and helping inflate and deflate the balloon) and spent another summer skydiving. Her vows were even adventurous: Michelle and her husband were married on a beach in the Dominican Republic.

She was born in Cincinnati, Ohio but has lived in various cities: Owensboro, Kentucky; Dayton, Ohio; Washington DC; and Baltimore, Maryland. A true creative, Michelle has an English degree from Wright State University.

In her free time, you might find her honing her ballroom dancing skills or embracing her inner Parrothead (she has been to over 22 Jimmy Buffett concerts since she was 16). Or you might find her click-clacking away, writing for her wine blog http://www.wine-girl.net or contributing to the technology blog http://bub.blicio.us

Michelle began working with the Panstoria team in 2004.
